Christ’s Church

We are one piece of how God is working in our city, our state, and our world. Here are some of our distinctives.

Our Vision - “Equipping the Church for the sake of the World”.

When you walk into an embassy, you’ve stepped into another country. When you step into a church, you’ve entered into an embassy of the kingdom of God. Embassies equip citizens of their kingdom to faithfully live in the place they have been called, look out for their well being, as well as protecting them and providing healing and support.

The Table church is an embassy of the kingdom of God, and it is our job to equip our members to faithfully live out their missional calling to be the people of God in our world. We have identified these distinctives as values that we hold close to aid in this task. 👉

Our Values -

Gospel - The Christ event (life, death, resurrection) is essential to the Christian faith and our witness to these events is held out in everything we say and do.

Mission - All believers in Christ are called and equipped to participate in God’s mission of reconciling all things to Himself. We all have a part to play!

Sending - Part of the role of an elder is to equip the saints for ministry. All Christians are called to participate in God’s mission, so we are always looking for opportunities to pour gas on the fire of missional ideas. Training new leaders, sending members on strategic projects, and equipping EVERYONE to live faithfully in their vocations. An overseas missionary, a stay at home mom, a church planter, a mechanic, an athlete… All have a role to play and a place at the Table.

Rest - Americans have a problem with rest and sabbath. We easily fill every moment with work and distraction. If we are to be a missional people, we must be a resting people. We encourage and implement opportunities for sabbatical rest for all our members.

Communal - God’s church is not a club, so much as it is a living, breathing entity. We are truly better when we are together. This is a big reason why we eat a meal every week at church. It is over the breaking of bread that we truly meet people and grow close.

Liturgy - Liturgy is an older word for “the way we do things.”. We believe the way we do things forms us. Because of that we pay careful attention to how we are worshipping God at the Table so that we are formed to be like Christ. We implement lots of historic practices for worship that Christians have been using for thousands of years. At the Table we pray prayers and sing songs that saints have been singing and praying for centuries.
